Antifungal Policy and Practice Across Five Countries: A Qualitative Review

The global burden of invasive fungal infections (IFIs) is increasing, necessitating changes in antifungal policies. A study assessing five countries found significant gaps in IFI management, including low prioritization of diagnostics, omission of fungal pathogens from antimicrobial resistance policies, and lack of awareness and healthcare professional training. The findings aim to inform decision-makers on reducing IFI burden and demonstrating responsible antifungal stewardship.
